Individual Therapy

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy is for everyone. It is a one-on-one therapeutic process where a person works directly with a therapist to achieve personal goals, work on self-improvement, heal from past trauma, and address present life challenges with a tailored therapy plan. It’s an opportunity to deeply understand yourself and work on your mental well-being.

Individual therapy is a collaborative process that facilitates change, helping you to develop coping skills and learn to navigate life’s challenges independently. In the first session, known as the Initial Interview, the therapist and client get to know one another. The therapist gathers some history, and together they set some goals. Based on the client's specific needs, a personalized, semi-structured therapy plan is created. The therapist adapts the approach based on feedback from the client and the nature of the challenges faced. The duration of therapy varies, with both the therapist and client having the autonomy to terminate sessions when they feel their goals have been achieved. Individual therapy can address a wide range of issues, from anxiety, ADHD, and depression to trauma, financial stress, and other personal struggles. Work on yourself to make it work!

Couples Counselling

Couples Counselling

Couples counseling, also known as couples therapy, can be incredibly beneficial when dealing with significant relationship challenges such as conflict, miscommunication, infidelity, trust issues, separation, fertility problems, and miscarriage. Therapy can help couples reconnect, rediscover their bond, and work through issues together. By using a variety of tools and techniques, couples can develop a collaborative plan with the therapist to guide the relationship toward a healthier, more fulfilling future.

In couples therapy, partners can improve their communication skills, understand each other’s love languages, and learn effective conflict resolution strategies. Couples also work to align expectations and strengthen their emotional connection. During the initial intake session, the therapist will gather relationship history from both individuals, set realistic goals, and develop a tailored therapeutic plan to address specific challenges. The number of sessions will vary depending on the issues to be resolved, with both the therapist and the clients working together to steer the relationship in a positive direction. Either the therapist or the clients can choose to end therapy at any time or when the goals have been achieved.

Adolescent or teenage therapy

Adolescent or teenage therapy

Adolescence is a pivotal period in a person's life, marked by significant physical, social, emotional, and cognitive changes. This transitional period can bring unique challenges, such as social anxiety, establishing identity, relationship issues, peer pressure, substance abuse, academic stress, family conflicts, low self-esteem, and decisions about the future. These challenges can lead to feelings of anxiety, confusion, and isolation. However, you don’t have to face them alone.

At Beyond the Box with Bhakti, we provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space for teens and adolescents to explore mental health concerns. Our therapy for teens focuses on developing healthy coping skills, emotional regulation, resilience, and self-acceptance. These skills help teenagers manage present difficulties and build a strong foundation for the future. Teen therapy is an investment in your mental health, providing the tools needed to navigate life’s challenges in a positive, resilient, and empowered way during this transformative period of growth.

With the advent of COVID-19, the world has shifted online—and so has therapy. Don't let geographical distance or time constraints prevent you from getting the help you need. If traveling to a clinic is difficult or if you're unable to find time for in-person therapy, online therapy is a flexible and convenient option. While face-to-face therapy offers human connection, online therapy has its own unique benefits. You can attend therapy sessions from the comfort of your home or anywhere you choose, making it easier to prioritize your mental health. Online therapy is effective for addressing various mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress, and more. With a personalized therapeutic plan and a wide range of tools and techniques, you can work with a licensed therapist in a comfortable setting. During your initial intake session, your therapist will take your history, discuss your goals, and create a tailored therapy plan. The number of sessions will be decided collaboratively between you and your therapist. Either you or the therapist may choose to end therapy at any time, or it may be concluded once your therapeutic goals have been met.

Family Therapy

Family Therapy

India, being a country with a rich, highly collectivistic culture, has it’s own way in which families are loked at. Family is an important part of our lives, so much so that we say’ Vasudhiva kutambakam”- All the world is my family. It also comes with it’s own unique challenges and issues. So get to know your family, work on a wide range of issues like behavioural conflicts, family conflicts, communication issues, anger, financial distress, life transitions, substance abuse, generational trauma, major health diagnosis, chronic health conditions, anger, dysfunction, divorce, etc and work on the bonds of your family to build healthy coping skills, conflict resolution, healthy boundary setting, communication and create a nurturing, positive family environment.

The fact that I have been born and brought up in our culture and have also seen and experienced how families in individualistic cultures function firsthand, allows me to provide a unique blend of therapeutic interventions that are culture informed. Be itr the whole family or a part of the family ie a few members who want to work on their bonds, I aspire to be able to provide a safe space for all that can facilitate both insight as well as action for the family as a unit to function better. The therapist, in the initial interview session, will take history from the family members and will devise a therapeutic plan based on the goal of therapy and the challenge that needs to be navigated. Using therapeutic tools and techniques, concerns of all the members and family as a whole will be addressed. Sometimes, individual sessions may be recommended for some members. The family or therapist are free to terminate at any time, or close therapy when the goals are met.
Crisis intervention or mental health first aid

Crisis intervention or mental health first aid

A crisis refers to a critical situation in which a person faces intense emotional, psychological, or physical distress that exceeds their usual coping abilities. Crises can take many forms, including mental health emergencies like panic attacks, suicidal thoughts, or emotional breakdowns, as well as external events such as accidents or traumatic experiences. Whether it’s a mental health crisis or a physical crisis like a natural disaster, timely intervention is crucial. Mental health first aid is just as essential as physical first aid, as it provides immediate psychological support during an emergency or crisis.

At Beyond the Box with Bhakti, we specialize in crisis intervention and mental health first aid. Our therapists are trained in the RAPID model of Psychological First Aid developed by Johns Hopkins University. The RAPID model—Reflective Listening, Assessment, Prioritization, Intervention, and Disposition—is an evidence-based approach used to manage high-stress situations. This model helps de-escalate crises, ensuring safety while offering coping strategies and connecting individuals with immediate resources. The goal of crisis intervention is to stabilize the individual, address their urgent mental health needs, and connect them with long-term support and therapeutic care. By increasing self-efficacy and resilience, we empower individuals to manage personal challenges effectively. If you're experiencing a mental health crisis, contact us today or find helpful local and national helplines here for immediate assistance.

LGBTQ++ therapy

LGBTQ++ therapy

The experience of being a queer person in today’s world is uniquely complex, often involving challenges such as social stigma, discrimination, moral policing, harassment, and family disruptions. Many queer individuals also face strained relationships with peers, limited access to resources, and higher rates of substance abuse. These struggles can contribute to feelings of isolation, anxiety, confusion, sadness, and anger toward society, family, and friends, which can damage relationships and negatively impact mental health. In some cases, these issues may lead to suicidal ideation, negative coping mechanisms, and a decline in overall wellbeing.

At Beyond the Box with Bhakti, we provide a supportive, non-judgmental, and safe space for queer individuals, whether or not they have come out. Our therapy services focus on self-acceptance, emotional regulation, self-esteem, and navigating family conflict. We work on fostering a healthier relationship with yourself, developing a personalized definition of self, and cultivating hope for the future through connection and therapeutic support. No matter what challenges you face as a queer person, we offer compassionate therapy tailored to your unique experiences. Empower yourself and begin your journey to mental wellness by investing in therapy today!

Stress management

Stress management

In today’s fast-paced world, stress is an inevitable part of daily life. Stress occurs when the demands of a situation exceed our ability to cope, leading to physical and emotional tension. While everyone experiences stress, how we respond to it plays a crucial role in our overall wellbeing. Chronic stress can contribute to various health problems, including high blood pressure, heart disease, insomnia, and other lifestyle-related conditions. It is also strongly linked to mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and burnout. My approach to effective stress management provides practical tools and techniques to help individuals reduce stress, enhance emotional resilience, and restore balance in their lives. By integrating strategies like mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and relaxation exercises, I assist clients in identifying their stress triggers and adopting healthier coping mechanisms.

Whether stress arises from personal, professional, or social challenges, I take a comprehensive approach to stress management by addressing both mental and physical aspects. I work closely with clients to create a personalized stress management plan tailored to their specific needs, empowering them to build positive coping strategies and strengthen their resilience. With the right support, you can learn how to manage stress effectively, improve your mental health, and achieve greater balance, wellness, and growth in your life.
